The transition away from carbon emissions to full sustainability by 2050 is now recognised as essential for the future of our society and momentum for change is building. Training providers, employers, and learners all have a role to play in building thriving sustainable economies and helping people move from job roles that will be phased out, to new, in-demand specialisms. By doing so, they will develop the skills to create a more sustainable world.
The College of North West London has partnered with Brent Council to build a Green Skills Centre of Excellence and develop courses that focus on exploring net zero targets and improving the energy efficiency and carbon footprint of existing homes. We will be giving students the skills to install clean or cleaner technologies, and even to achieve passive homes using modern methods of construction. Our flexible curriculum is adaptable and can be changed to suit learners of all abilities and specialisms.
The exciting new centre of excellence will enable educators, employers, and other organisations to work in partnership to develop a programme that promotes employability, learning, and skills.
