Time to take your first career steps towards construction

Discover if you have a passion for construction and where your abilities lie

West London College is seeking people aged 16 + to sign-up to a new four-week, part-time, Career Path to Construction training programme that could open the door to a career in the exciting world of construction.

People seeking to learn a trade are encouraged to apply – especially those not sure which trade might suit them best. Those attending will be able to try their hand at carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing and electrical installation. Expert tutors will be on hand every step of the way to show you the ropes and teach you some of the tricks of the trade – helping you discover what you are good at.

As well as sampling different trades you will also have support to improve your interview and job-hunting skills and create an eye-catching CV.

The programme launches on Tuesday 4th June and ends on Monday 1st July. It runs over two half-days a week – Monday and Tuesdays 9.30am to 12.20pm and will be delivered at Southall Community College’s Construction & Green Skills Training Centre – a short walk from Southall station.

People aged 16+ who have the right to live and work in the UK, who are unemployed and not in training elsewhere are invited to apply for places. Places are limited so do not delay.

The programme is timed to enable people who successfully complete the programme to progress on to the next level of training offered at the college in the trade they enjoy most.

A second programmed is scheduled to run from 10th July to 1st August. If you would like to know more email Lisa Portland: l.portland@wlc.ac.uk
